The wellbeing trail was created to develop and promote the quality of the Park’s welcome by improving the accessibility and experience of the Park’s archaeological itineraries and nature trails.
The trail follows the route of an existing Paleochristian tour above Collina dei Templi and passes the entrance to Grotta Fragapane, a large community catacomb, and the Paleo-Christian necropolis. The trail is accessed from Via Sacra immediately after Villa Aurea.
Shaded by trees and surrounded by the fragrant blossoms of evergreen creepers, visitors can stroll through a landscape of unusually large and curiously shaped olive and almond trees with unique and evocative views. The trail also features a pressurised water mist system, offering visitors a welcome sensation of wellbeing and freshness in the summer heat.
